Therefore, now I will show you using my example YouTube channel, where the comments on your channel are, what they are, how to filter them, and also how you can prohibit leaving comments in some of your videos. And then you can go on vacation)) Let's go!
Yesterday, I told you how to make your comments . And today we will continue the topic of comments, but in a different direction.
Let's look at the comments section in more detail.
Where are all the comments on your YouTube channel?
Naturally, we all know that comments on YouTube are located under each of your videos. But, here’s the question: where can all the comments be viewed in one place, rather than clicking on the entire video. This will be especially convenient if you want to find a comment, but don’t remember which video the person wrote it under.
So, go to your YouTube channel, in the upper right corner you need to find your avatar (YouTube profile photo), click on it. A window will appear in which click on the inscription CREATIVE STUDIO.
It is in the Creative Studio where the main settings of your channel are located, and such sections as:
- control panel (shows your recently uploaded videos, channel comments, statistics)
- video manager (all videos and playlists of your channel, copyrights, etc.)
- live broadcasts
- community (comments, messages, subtitles, etc.)
- YouTube Analytics (analytics, statistics for your channel)
- Create (music library, video editor)
Now we are interested in the Creative Studio section COMMUNITY, you need to click on it and then select COMMENTS.
This is where all the comments on your channel are located. In this section, you can search for the comments you need, approve or block them (if required).
Types of comments. How to find the right comment?
Comments have 3 sections:
- Published (they are already displayed on your channel, everyone can see them)
- Under review (these comments are only visible to you until you approve them)
- Spam (only you can see comments, you can also approve or delete them; sometimes quite normal comments end up in the SPAM section, so check this section too)
You can also find some comment in the search bar, see the picture above, you just need to enter the desired word or phase there and click on the magnifying glass icon on the right. YouTube will give you results that match your search.
If you remember which video had the comment you are looking for, simply select the video you need in the ALL VIDEOS section on the right. And YouTube will show you all the comments for the selected video.
I already told you about the UNDER CONSIDERATION section, so here it is: you can set up pre-moderation of your comments or even close the ability to comment on individual of your videos. How to make comments on your YouTube videos visible only after your approval (moderation)?
To do this, go to the main page of your channel. To the right of the channel name, next to the Subscribe to channel button, there is a gear picture, click on it.
You will see the following window, here select the “DISCUSSION” TAB and select “Submit for approval.” And click SAVE below. Everything is ready, now all comments on your channel will be displayed only after you view them and approve them for publication.
How to block comments on videos on YouTube?
To prevent other YouTube users from leaving comments on your video, you need to go to the Creative Studio (I showed how to enter at the beginning of the article), select VIDEO MANAGER, then VIDEO. Select the one you need from the list of your videos and click CHANGE (see picture below).
After this, your video settings window will open. Now we are interested in the INFORMATION AND SETTINGS tab (1) - ADVANCED SETTINGS (2) - COMMENTS (3). Here you can change which comments will be shown and how they will be ordered for the video.
To disable commenting, you just need to uncheck the ALLOW COMMENTS box and click SAVE.
After this, when a YouTube user watches your video, they will not be able to leave comments under it. And at the bottom, instead of a line of comments, there will be the inscription COMMENTS ON THIS VIDEO ARE DISABLED.
How to filter comments on YouTube?
Go to watch the video you are interested in, and here you can select two filters:
- show popular first
- show new ones first
