How to run the installed program

Just like in previous versions of Microsoft Windows, programs can be launched by several different ways. The simplest and most common of these is to launch a program by touching or double-clicking on its icon or shortcut located on the Desktop or in the Explorer window. On double-clicking, Windows will open a new window in which the application of your choice will be launched.

One of the most convenient ways launching applications installed in Windows is also the selection of the appropriate program in the Start window. The initial window allows you to get quick access to all programs registered in the system and, if necessary, find and execute any of them with one touch.

To go to the Start window of Microsoft Windows 8, swipe from the left edge of the screen to its center (or move the mouse cursor to the upper right corner of the screen), and click on the button Start (Start) . The screen will show tiles of the apps you use most often. If the tile of the program you are looking for is in Start Windows window missing, make a short movement of your finger across the screen from the bottom up (or just right-click in any part of the Start window free of tiles) and in the panel that opens, click on the button All apps. You will be shown a list of all installed in Windows Applications(Fig. 1.7).

This screen can be moved to the right and left by swiping your finger. If you perform a "pinch" on this screen, it will be demonstrated alphabetical list: by touching the corresponding letter of the alphabet in the Initial window, a list of applications starting with the corresponding letter will be shown (Fig. 1.8).

Windows programs 8, which are included with the operating system, can be found in the group Standard - Windows (Windows Accessories). System utilities grouped together Service - Windows (Windows System). separate group Accessibility (Windows Ease of Access) constitute specialized applications designed for people with disabilities.

When launching some applications in the Windows environment, the program loading blocking by the User Accounts Control mechanism may work - in this case, a window will appear on the screen showing a warning that an application is trying to take control. This mechanism was introduced into Windows in order to prevent the launch of various spyware and malware. To continue the process of launching the program of your choice, simply click the Continue button in the warning window ( continue).

You need to know how to properly install the program on your computer. There are programs that require installation and are portable.

Portable ones are more convenient because they can be kept on a USB flash drive and run directly from it, on any computer, i.e. they do not take up disk space.

But most programs require installation. This is not a complicated procedure, although sometimes it takes time and attention to follow all the steps required by the Setup Wizard in sequence. Programs are best downloaded from the official website of the developer. So you can protect your computer from viruses as much as possible.

First, I get acquainted with the program to be installed. I check compatibility with my computer and operating system. How to see the version of the operating system (Windows) and bit depth (32 or 64), I showed in. I check if there is enough space on the hard drive. Does my computer meet the requirements for random access memory and video card. If some requirements are not met, the program may not work correctly.

I am downloading the program.

It happens that the site contains several links for downloading. These are links to the same program, but they are located on different servers in case one of the links does not work at the moment (this is called mirrors). The "Download" button can be written in the English version "Download", and "FREE" means free.

Programs are packed into a RAR or ZIP archive, and sometimes they are unpacked.

Both archived and unpacked files, I check antivirus program, and unpack the archived ones.

In the unpacked program, you need to find the installation file, this is a file with an EXE or MSI extension. The setup file often includes SETUP (installation), or INSTALL (installation) in its name. Looking for SETUP.EXE , or AIMP. MSI.

I run the setup file and follow the prompts of the Setup Wizard.

The program may offer a simple or advanced installation mode. If I am not familiar with this program, I choose the easy mode. In the advanced installation mode, you can connect more features, but I still don't know if I need it.

Often, during installation, you must accept the terms (check the box at the end) of the license agreement. It is usually large, I just run through it with my eyes.

I choose a folder for installing the program (I have a separate one for this),

I choose the location of the program shortcut (on the desktop, or in the menu quick launch).

I LOOK CAREFULLY WHETHER THE INSTALLATION OF THE PROGRAM DOES NOT OFFER ADDITIONAL APPLICATIONS (as a rule, there is already a checkmark there by default, and if you do not uncheck it, you will receive applications like Yandex Bar or Webalt in addition) or yours may change search system if you skip unchecking this question. Of course, later, everything that is not needed can be deleted, but you will have to suffer.

When installing a program, the path where this program will be installed is automatically written, usually it is drive C, then the name of the program is written. You can install it on another drive and change the name of the program to something more understandable for yourself, but I would not recommend doing this. There is a general rule - programs are installed on drive C, and documents, games, applications - on drive D. Yes, and the names of programs, it is better to know native, generally accepted ones.

Programs are:

Free. Almost all paid programs have free counterparts. Before buying any, take an interest, look on the Internet for a replacement. Surely there is, and not one. Now there are many services online, that is, the program does not need to be installed on your computer, but you need to do something on this service directly on the Internet, and download the result to your folder.

Conditionally free, which are given free of charge for a period (usually 30 days), or work with limited functionality (do not perform all the operations that they can).

Paid, which are installed similarly to free ones, but at some point the Setup Wizard requires you to enter a key that you need to buy.

The choice of programs is large, it all depends on your desires. But there are programs that you can’t do without, you need to find them and choose the best one for yourself and your wallet. Installing programs is not always easy, you need to learn this, but sometimes it’s not easy, for this they install it on a computer additional programs- utilities for clean removal of unnecessary programs.

The vast majority of programs require installation on a computer before use. There are exceptions, some programs are ready to work without installation. However, the installed program, as a rule, works more stably, it is easy to run or remove it, since it is “registered” in the computer system. Running the program in these two cases will be slightly different.

Instruction

First, the most common case when the program is installed on your computer will be considered. During installation, leave the path to the files and folders of the program as suggested by default. Typically, this folder is "C:\Programm Files\Program_Name". In addition, if the program offers to place an icon for launching on the desktop, then this item should be checked. In addition to the desktop, the program can place a launch shortcut in the so-called "quick launch bar", located just to the right of the "Start" button. Also take a close look at which section of the Start menu the program places its launch shortcuts.

If the program has placed its launch shortcut on the desktop, find it and run the installed program by double-clicking the left mouse button on the shortcut icon. An alternative option is one click on the shortcut of the installed program in the "quick launch bar", which is located just to the right of the "Start" button (in case the program has placed its shortcut there).

Run Installed program can be done through the start menu. To do this, click successively "Start" - "All Programs" and in the list find the desired program. In addition, you can pin an application launch shortcut to the Start menu: Start - All Programs - Installed Program - Right Mouse Button - Pin to Start Menu. Now the launch is available immediately after pressing the "Start" button.

If the program is not installed on the computer, but is provided in a ready-made form, and also if it has not created shortcuts to launch either in the Start menu or on the desktop, it can be launched directly from installed folder. To do this, using any file manager ("My Computer" or " Total Commander”), go to the folder with the program, usually this is “C: Programm Files Program_name” (if using “My Computer”, when you go to the Program Files folder, click “Display the contents of this folder”).

In the program folder, find the file with the .exe extension, usually it is called consonant with the program and graphically looks like its logo. Double click on the file to run program. Click right click mouse, select "Send to ..." - "To the desktop (create shortcut)". Now the launch is also available from the desktop.
