Search with ace euro. How the Garrett Euro ACE metal detector works. The best settings for the Garrett 350 Euro Ice metal detector.

Unfortunately, there are not always comrades who can sensibly and clearly explain how one metal detector differs from another, what is most important in the search, and in general, what determines whether a person will have swag or leave the field empty. I think there is no point in talking about the characteristics of the device, since this information is available on the vast expanses of the Internet, but if you wish and have the opportunity, you can visit any treasure hunting store and read with your own eyes the manuals and instructions available there.

The truth is that the ACE EURO metal detector is simple and reliable, like a “tank”. Later in the article I will consider that this simplicity is only apparent, but in principle, it is these moments that determine its popularity. By the way, please note that the EURO model already has a DD coil installed, which makes this metal detector even more interesting.

Advantages of ACE EURO

So, if you read the instructions, it becomes clear that it is enough to turn on ACE, select the desired mode and you can perform . Yes, it is, it is precisely this simplicity (no need to rebuild the device from the ground, no need to immediately set the sensitivity, no need to understand the discriminator yourself) that determines the fact that this device is so popular.

Read the instructions: everything is simple and concise

On the other hand, the search process opens up new opportunities and tricks. For example, given that the adjustment to the ground occurs automatically, it is advisable when you turn on the device not to immediately start waving it, but to do the following:

  1. Place the device with the coil on the ground
  2. Turn on the device
  3. Wait until it stops beeping (usually two indicator sounds are heard)
  4. Start searching or make settings

Of course, you don’t have to do this, but from a logical point of view, it’s better to do just that: the device needs to somehow be adjusted and determine the soil parameters. I may be wrong, but spending a couple of seconds on this manipulation is not a pity.

ACE EURO settings for search

Let's look further - this is the discrimination setting. I have already said that over the years the search engine switches to searching on all metals, and this device allows you to do this. You can safely select the search mode for all metals and “enjoy life.” The whole point is that at first it is better to check all the signals (both color and black), because this is the only way the learning process occurs.

On ACE, you can choose the dixtream mode that you need, you can even experiment: stack coins, pile them, place them on their edges. “Experiments” will show that sometimes even colored targets can ring black - take note of this. By the way, even more advanced and popular models of metal detectors are guilty of this. Only experience will help here!

If your metal detector is constantly beeping, there are many ways to eliminate the beeping noise. This sometimes happens when a person has installed a more serious coil. Try lowering the sensitivity on ACE by 1-2 notches, and life will get better.

The next point, which I have already written about more than once, is the swing speed of the device. If the wiring is too slow, the device may not “catch” the find; if it is too fast, something may be missed. The “golden mean” is important here. How to find her? Again, take different coins with you to the fields, bury them and do the test.

But here the reliability will be slightly doubtful, since things that have lain in the ground for decades oxidize, and a “cloud of their own” forms around them, which also affects detection. Therefore, do not rush to dig up the find right away, move the reel over it at different speeds, and remember the result.

Someone says that there is some play at the junction of the ACE rods. Yes, this happens. But this can be treated quite quickly - a couple of turns of electrical tape in this place on the assembled rod, and you can walk for days, everything will be fine.

When buying a metal detector, in particular the one we are talking about, make sure to immediately strengthen the armrest. Oddly enough, on some devices in this series the armrests last for years, and on some devices they quickly fail and simply break. It is clear that in the event of a breakdown, everything can be repaired, you can make a homemade armrest, buy a new one, and so on. But it’s better not to let it come to that.

Now about the batteries. ACE devices are sensitive to batteries losing charge. In this case, the device, roughly speaking, begins glitch. Keep this in mind, keep a spare set of batteries, otherwise the search will turn into a nightmare. By the way, there are devices that “squeeze” the batteries to “0”, but this does not affect the operation of the device in any way.

There is another nuance - these are headphones. In fact, this point can be applied to all metal detectors, but especially with regard to the ACE series. Firstly, you can pick up a weak signal, and secondly, since these devices do not have a volume control, the ACE “screams” quite loudly, and the person seems to be unmasking himself, which is not very pleasant. Therefore, when buying this metal detector, the main thing is to immediately buy headphones.

What more can be said? It should be noted that with a standard coil, the ACE 350 has an excellent pinpoint, but it is better to double-check the find on both sides, since there are cases when the device shows “color” on one side, and if you go from the other, it already gives off a black mark.

Of course, you can write something else, but you just won’t remember everything at once, everything is already automatic. Another thing is important: this metal detector is a serious device. And no matter what anyone says, it was the accessibility, simplicity and quality of this metal detector that allowed it to become the most recognizable, a kind of workhorse.

And even if it lacks some settings, somewhere it loses in depth, but in general, the ACE EURO is a worthy machine with which you can enter this hobby, enter it for a long time. And many search engines, who, due to their preferences, having accumulated knowledge and experience, purchased another metal detector, keep the ACE as a spare device, since it is simply a pity to give it away - after all, it is a reliable comrade who is used to working in the most difficult conditions.

This detector also has the ability self-configuration search. You can set up Euro Eyes identification yourself for any type of item you are looking for. The lower indicator scale consists of 12 segments. As you already understood, in each of their modes, those segments that are painted black will be recognized. For example, in the “No Separation” mode, all segments are shaded, which means that any metal object will be automatically identified. Using the “identification” (discrim) and “exclusion” (elim) buttons, you can create a specific combination by adding or removing search objects in any of the modes. There are two ways to set object recognition settings. You can use the "identify" button by moving the cursor and selecting specific segments of the upper scale to turn identification of specific objects on or off. Then you need to click the “exception” button to turn on or turn off the selected segment, depending on your choice for a specific purpose. The second method is to hold an object close to the search coil and turn its recognition on or off. Make sure that the top scale points to the desired object, then press the "exclusion" button to turn recognition on or off. Coin mode is ideal for coin hunting in European conditions and soil types. The “Custom Settings” mode allows you to create your own unique treasure hunting mode. Any settings that you make in the “individual” mode will be saved in the metal detector’s memory even after it is turned off and on again. It is important to remember that every time the detector is turned off and on again, the settings will return to the original ones in all modes except “individual”. The Euro Ace model has more segments dedicated to identifying iron objects. This additional property leads to greater accuracy in identifying and searching for ferrous objects, and ferrous objects can often drown out the signal from other more valuable objects. It is very important to choose the right mode and set it individual settings to exclude the presence of iron debris and at the same time not to sift out any valuable items. To demonstrate this, let's look at how this coin next to an iron nail would be identified. In this case, Euroace operates in the “no separation” mode, without separating iron objects from others. A separate coin will be determined in the ninth segment. The iron nail will be identified on the second segment. This iron-containing object can be excluded from the definition list by clicking the “exclude” button next to the first two segments on the left. Since we disabled the first two segments of iron objects, the nail will no longer be detected by the sound signal. But at the same time, a coin and a nail combined together will lead to a mixed result, and will be determined in the third segment. As a result, we manage to find a valuable item due to the fact that the signal from the coin and the nail is determined higher on the scale than the nail separately. Let's talk about the button located under the "sensitivity" inscription. This special property will allow you to search in any type of soil. Of course, you'll want to set the sensitivity to maximum to detect objects as deeply as possible. Garrett's engineers designed the Euro Ace for maximum sensitivity. But it may happen that due to certain conditions the sounds will abruptly interrupt each other, as in this case. This can be avoided by reducing sensitivity. 3 factors can cause your metal detector to behave this way. Strong electromagnetic interference, unusual minerals in the soil and a large number of metal debris. If you encounter this situation, make sure to move the reel at the same height, if you raise the reel a couple of cm, this should make a difference. Always start your search at the standard sensitivity settings, which will suit most soil types. You can increase sensitivity as much as soil conditions allow. Sensitivity set above the stable norm may prevent you from detecting deep-lying objects. Continue to practice the mode and sensitivity settings until you fully understand all the properties. If you suddenly want to return to the original, standard settings, press and hold the “power” button (pwr) for about 5 seconds, or until you hear a double beep. Notice the battery symbol in the lower right corner of the screen. It is filled with 4 dark segments, which indicates that the batteries are fully charged. Since all Garrett metal detectors are designed to consume batteries very economically, 4 new AA batteries should last from 20 to 40 hours. When only one or two segments are dark you should be ready to replace the batteries with new ones. To remove the batteries you need to carefully pull the cover and remove it, this will allow you to remove 4 old batteries and throw them away. The label on the detector will help you determine the correct polarity required when installing new batteries. Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly and firmly. After you change the batteries, put the plastic panel back and slide it up, making a sound like this. When storing the detector for more than one month, remove the batteries from it. Headphones are a very useful addition to any metal detector; they are included in the kit. They are especially effective in noisy environments where you may not be able to hear the sounds coming from the detector. The headphone jack is located on the right rear side of the panel. The headphones have a volume control.
