Perhaps it would not occur to anyone to argue with the statement that the diversity - both in natural qualities and in the level of difficulty of the slopes - of the ski resorts of Italy is enormous. Cervinia, one of the oldest and most famous resorts, is located in the Aosta Valley, on the southern slopes of the four-thousander Matterhorn peak.
And Cervinia is the highest mountain resort in Italy. The local town of Breuil-Cervinia is located at an altitude of 2050 m, the neighboring village of Valtournenche is at 1524 m, and the highest skiing point is as much as 3480 m. Winter here is very sunny, snow lies from December to the end of May.

How to get there
To get to Cervinia, it makes sense to focus on the nearest airports: Turin (120 km) and Milan (Malpensa, 160 km). Cervinia attracts skiers primarily with guaranteed snow and the largest ski area in one place (without traveling by transport). The ski area of Cervinia amazes with the abundance of slopes of any difficulty category. There is a lot of sun here, the snow does not melt from December until the end of May. The presence of glaciers allows you not to part with your favorite sport even in summer: the winter season lasts from October to May, and the summer season - on Plateau Rosa Glacier (3,500 m) - from June to September.
Two lifts lead from the resort to the main ski area to the Plan Mazon station (2555 m). From here you can go for easy trails by taking the chairlift leading to Furggen, or for difficult high-speed descents using the lift leading to the Rosa Plateau (3488 m). The routes of the Swiss region of Zermatt, with a maximum elevation of 3899 m and a length of 230 km, also originate from the Rose Plateau. How to get to Cervinia
