Information for candidates for participation in the affiliate program. YouTube Affiliate: Media Network or Adsense - which is better and more profitable? Is adsense worth it?

Hello everyone, friends, Sergey Voytyuk is with you. I have been asked for a long time whether YouTube affiliate is effective and whether it is worth joining.

In fact, it is difficult to answer this question and make the right decision. In this article, I will address this issue. For those who don't know, YouTube has come to grips with media networks. The fact is that so many media networks have so far connected to themselves not entirely clean channels, the videos of which violated the principles of the YouTube community. Sooner or later the purge had to happen.

YouTube technical support has taken up this issue, and many media networks have disabled the ability to connect new channels until certain requirements are met. Including top media networks. Therefore, many media networks are now not connecting new customers and are actively removing very many users from among their partners.

Affiliate YouTube or Google AdSense? Comparison.

In fact, at the moment I would advised not to connect to media networks. In principle, now they will not help you much in promoting the video. Yes, about 2 years ago I shot a video in which I advised to connect to media networks. And at the time it was right. Now I don't recommend it. Why? Because, firstly, the situation with them is not entirely clear. Further, most of them now cannot connect new channels. Well, also according to the new requirements, in order to connect to the media network, you must first enable monetization, connect to AdSense. Previously, it was possible to connect to the media network without connecting to Adsense, that is, without waiting for the channel to be checked, and so on, but now this plus has disappeared.

Benefits of media networks

At the moment, all that YouTube affiliate can give you is to fight for your rights by representing you in front of YouTube. Especially if you have a large channel, you can get complaints, you can get a strike for spam, for fraud, for various reasons, completely by accident. There are failures, there are strikes on videos that do not violate the principles of the community at all. And in this case, appealing this strike is quite problematic. When an appeal is filed, the answer is often negative. Three such strikes and you can lose the channel. And if you are connected to a media network, then in this case it helps you. Indeed, this is a very important function of the media network, because of which I strongly advised all my clients to connect until today.

Also, the second big plus of media networks is that you can withdraw absolutely any amount of money, you don’t have to wait until you reach $ 100, and moreover, withdrawal methods are often more convenient than in AdSense, yes. But the media network will not help you in anything else.

Lack of media networks

The disadvantage of media networks is that it is very difficult to reach the technical support of their top representatives. Because, you know, these media networks have thousands of partners, and technical support usually consists of 20-100 employees. And it can take weeks to get through to it.

At the moment, I advise you all: wait for your channel to be checked for monetization and live with AdSense. This is not scary, it will give you more income, because you will not give away part of the proceeds to the media network. Many of my clients are now on AdSense, including major channels, and there are no major problems. So if you're deciding between a media network or AdSense, I advise you to choose AdSense for now.

What to do for those who are already connected to the media network? Disconnect or not?

I do not advise such people to switch off. First, since the media networks do a very deep sweep, up to 90% of the channels are removed. Thanks to this, technical support is freed up, and it is easier to reach it. This is a big plus. Also, if you suddenly have any problems, the YouTube partner will fight for you, because you are their partner, who does not violate the principles of the community, and it is important for them to leave you. Therefore, now the situation with the answers of technical support of media networks should improve, and this can be used. Further, you can withdraw funds in your usual way, which is also quite convenient. So for now, I wouldn't recommend turning it off.

Thank you for reading to the end. If you have any questions about AdSense, media networks, or YouTube in general, feel free to ask them in the comments to the video

What is "hours of video viewing in the public domain"?

Watching hours of not all videos are important for the Affiliate Program.

Here's what we consider:

  • hours of watching videos that are in the public domain.

Hours viewed for the following content do not count:

  • video from limited access;
  • videos with access by link;
  • remote rollers;
  • videos participating in the TrueView campaign.

Will the application be automatically accepted if my channel has enough watch hours and subscribers?

No. The standard check is mandatory for everyone. During it, experts determine whether the channel complies with the rules regarding the monetization of content on YouTube. A positive decision is made only in relation to those who comply with our requirements.

What happens if a channel is no longer eligible after I join the program?

Do not worry. If you submitted an application, your channel will be verified even if the number of subscribers or watch time drops.

However, YouTube reserves the right to disable monetization in some cases at its sole discretion. This can happen if the author has not uploaded a video or added posts to the "Community" tab for six months or more.

We will also disable monetization if any of our policies are violated. The channel parameters do not matter.

What if the application was sent in the classic version of the Creator Studio?

Further actions depend on what exactly you managed to do in the classic interface of the Creator Studio.

  • If you have just accepted the terms of the Affiliate Program, your consent information has been saved. All you need to do is link your channel to an existing AdSense account or create a new one. You can do this right in the Creator Studio, as soon as the desired indicators are accumulated on the channel.
  • If you have already accepted the terms of the Partner Program and linked the channel to your AdSense account, then no further action is required. All data is saved, and as soon as your statistics meet the requirements, we will accept the application in the queue for consideration.

How can this article be improved?

Yes, the media network takes part of the income (10-30%), but pays you for different types wallets, which basically solves a whole bunch of problems.

Firstly, if you regularly receive income to a current account, the tax authorities may have questions about where this money comes from.

Secondly, Google itself pays money from abroad, and if you directly receive money from there, then currency control will already deal with this, in addition to tax + you need to have an agreement, but as such, Google does not have it, only Terms of use. Rapida also does not solve these problems. And a PayPal business account cannot be opened in Russia.

And this is not all the problems. If you are connected to adsense and some of your or someone else's site is connected there, and according to Google, it violates some of its recommendations, for example, copied articles or no articles, only videos, then your adsense account will be closed, and on all channels connected to monetization will be disabled.

And recovering such an account can be extremely difficult, and sometimes not even possible.

Therefore, connect to the media network. In addition, the media network can help you in case of blocking the channel or individual videos and other difficulties. There is also a music library there. For example Epidemic Sound. Although there is still one caveat:

you can freely use the music from this library without copyright infringement. while connected to the network.

If you disconnected or were disconnected, or you connected to another network where there is no access to this library, then the owners of musical compositions can throw strikes at you. Therefore, it is better to focus on a few of the best compositions 3-5, maybe 10 and use only them in your videos. Then, when you disconnect from the media network, you can buy the rights to each musical soundtrack. Sometimes they cost a couple of dollars.

It is better to connect to large networks where there are payments in the ways that are convenient for you. Usually it is webmoney or Yandex money.

Why media network and not Adsense?

1. Adsense has a high risk of disabling monetization for invalid clicks.
2.All channels linked to the same Adsense account may be banned for violations on the same channel.

3. It is forbidden by the rules to have more than one Adsense account for individuals. When such a violation is detected, YouTube bans accounts.

4.When Adsense is blocked, monetization will be disabled on all channels linked to it.

5. The probability of challenging the blocking of Adsense or disabling monetization on the channel is minimal. Support practically does not consider these issues.

7. Some media networks may provide access to the ContentID system to protect your videos from re-uploads and monetize or block all identified copies.

8. A media network can buy more expensive advertising from large advertisers and display it on the channels of its partners, which affects CPM (revenue per 1000 commercial views) and, accordingly, allows you to earn more (up to 20-30%).

9. When withdrawing money from Adsense to a bank account, you may be brought to the attention of the competent authorities (illegal business, laundering of proceeds from crime, tax evasion). In addition, the money comes from a foreign legal entity, which may raise questions about possible financing of terrorist activities. In media networks, you can receive money to electronic wallets, which minimizes risks.

10. In the media network, the minimum amount for withdrawing money is less (in Adsense from $ 100).

11. It is almost impossible to get an adequate answer to a substantive question from YouTube technical support when working through Adsense. They will cite that they do not disclose information for the security of their platform, or will use general uninformative language, or direct YouTube to read the help.

12. In a good media network, support is responsive and genuinely interested in helping partners, and the media network can contact YouTube directly for competent answers to partner questions. Each media network has a dedicated YouTube employee.

13. The media network gives advice on how to optimize and promote a channel if you ask the right questions. Large channels are provided with a personal manager, with whom they can communicate via email or skype.

14. The media network provides partners with additional services for channel optimization, design, music libraries, social networking services.

15. There is a referral system in the media network, with the help of which you can receive constant additional income from each channel you invite to the network.

16. Media networks often hold competitions with valuable prizes among their partners.

17.Media networks can help partners participate in YouTube events (including private events).

18. Media networks can help find channels for collaboration and find advertisers.

P.S. When compiling the material, Denis Konovalov's manual was used as an addition to the article.

In the last article, I talked about how to connect an Adsense account. And in this we will talk about who is better and more profitable to work with Adsense or Media Network?

Let's start right away with the pros and cons of Adsense.

The biggest difference is your income. Adsense pays you 100% of everything. Payment is made automatically to the account you specified. If your channel is really made seriously, you are the author of all videos, you gradually develop your channel then The best way it work exactly with Adsense.

What else to pay attention to? Let's talk about. You can play and earn. Available to everyone, you can do without investment.

The downside is that Adsense technical support will never answer you and in case of problems or questions you will have to look for answers yourself.

The big disadvantage is the fact that Adsense bans accounts like seeds, with almost only one explanation: Your account has been suspended due to invalid clicks. Simply put, it bans you for cheating clicks on ads. And it doesn't matter if you really screwed them up or not. Basically, not very interesting and not author's channels fall under the ban. In 95% of cases, your banned account cannot be returned. The account is blocked forever and you can no longer register one or more accounts for the same address of residence and for the same person. If your account is blocked for violating the rules, your funds remain in the system and can no longer be withdrawn.

Pros and cons of media networks.

This time I'll start with the cons. There are only a couple of them and they are quite insignificant. In the future, the media network will be simple (PP).

So. The very first nuance is that when working with PP you will give a certain percentage of your income to this same PP. What percentage you will give depends on which PP you choose. Basically it is from 20% to 40%. Personally, I use a fairly young PP that takes only 20% of my income and provides the opportunity to bring other authors through my link, respectively, pays 5% of the income of the one you refer. If you earned $100 working with Adsense, then you would get $100 and working with PP you will get 80%. In the next article, I will tell you how to connect to the most profitable PP.

The next slight inconvenience is that the rather limited choice payment systems to which you can withdraw money. Personally, I use webmoney and from there I withdraw it to the bank card.

Not a big minus are the criteria that PPs set (each has its own) Large PPs are quite demanding and you can only join them if your channel is more than 30 days old, you have 10,000 views per month and 200 subscribers.

Now let's talk about the advantages of PP

The biggest plus is that you don't have to wait for long months for payouts like with Adsense. The PP does not require any proof of address from you. If you created a channel for example in January and earned money, you will receive it in February. But if through Adsense, then you would receive them only after a couple of months (if we are talking about the first payment).

Another big plus is the presence of technical support with whom you can talk both in ICQ and Skype. Almost all PPs have 24-hour technical support.

PP helps you promote your channel by advertising it on their own sites, which accordingly increases your views and income.

Despite the fact that the PP takes a small percentage for itself, it makes it possible to receive income from the author you brought (or you can connect one more of your channels as a referral to your main one). PPs pay money the same way next month. Example: All that you earned in January you will receive during February. The only difference is that Adsense pays out at the end of the month and the PP can pay out in the middle.

In case of copyright infringement or others, the PP will still pay you your earned money. But Adsense would have delayed payment for half a year. Since if your monetization is turned off for violating the rules, you will be given a “strike”, they are removed automatically after 6 months. If your channel is blocked, then the PP in 99% of cases will pay you the money you earned.

Now I would like to add from my experience:

If you want to seriously shoot captivating copyright videos, then of course Adsense is more suitable for you. If you decide to download money from there, by cheating with views and clicks, then you better use the PP, even if they get banned, then your efforts will not be in vain. You can read about which one is best to use PP in this article:
