Fly nano 3. “All the pros and cons of Fly Era Nano smartphones. Communication and communication capabilities

Good afternoon, reader!
Today I have a review of a mega-budget smartphone on Android Fly Era Nano3 (IQ436). It has a screen diagonal of 3.5 inches, is equipped with two slots for SIM cards, and works under Android control 4.1.2. The smartphone is relatively new, went on sale in April 2014. In respect of specifications he does not have enough stars from the sky, but his price is very affordable - about 2000-2500 rubles at the moment. Such a smartphone can afford any segment of the population. More details about it - in my today's review. Go! :)

Contents of delivery.

The smartphone comes in a sturdy white box. On the front side of the box, the smartphone itself is depicted, on the back - a general Technical information by model.

Box, back.

The package includes the following:
Smartphone Fly Era Nano 3 with removable battery
Charger
Micro USB cable
Headphones - headset
User manual and paper documentation.

The kit is quite common for many smartphones, you can only highlight the headphones, which in combination will also serve as a headset. The headphone cable has a crocodile clip for attaching to clothing and a button for accepting a call. The sound quality of the headphones is quite good, the sound is quite loud and clear.

Design, dimensions and display.

In terms of design, Era Nano 3 does not stand out among many other models - it has a glossy plastic cover, rounded edges of the body. The assembly of the device is good, I did not notice backlashes and squeaks.

Front view.

Back view

Upper end, rear view.

The dimensions of the Era Nano 3 are very compact, because the screen diagonal is only 3.5 inches, and the weight is only 115 grams! The smartphone fits comfortably in the hand, the thumb calmly reaches any corner of the screen. But on the other hand, it is not very convenient to type text and surf the Internet on a 3.5" screen.
The touch display is based on a TFT-matrix, the display resolution is 320x480 pixels. This is not to say that the resolution is high by today's standards, but the picture on the screen looks quite good. If you look at the screen at angles, then the overall visibility and color reproduction are noticeably reduced - these are the features of the TFT matrix. But for the device for 2000 rubles - it's forgivable.

Communication and communication opportunities.

The phone works in 2G and 3G networks: GSM 900/1800/, WCDMA 900/2100, and has 2 slots for SIM-cards. There is Bluetooth version 2.1, Wi-Fi module 802.11 b/g/n, the phone can work as an access point. The call quality is good, the audibility during conversations is also good. Wi-Fi is caught stably, I have not seen glitches and disconnections during use.

But there is no GPS module in the smartphone; Era Nano 3 cannot be used as a navigator.

Through the Micro-usb slot, you can connect your smartphone to a computer or laptop, transfer files, do synchronization, etc.

Camera.

The phone has two cameras - a 0.3 megapixel front camera and a 3.2 megapixel rear camera with flash. There is practically nothing to say about the front, because it is needed mainly for video communication through various applications such as Skype . It does its job, and it's okay :)

Unfortunately, there is practically nothing to say about the rear camera either. The quality of the photos is very, very mediocre. The camera does not have autofocus. The camera flash is rather weak. If you take pictures in low light, then the photos are even worse (example in the 4th photo below). Maximum photo resolution - 2048x1536 pixels. Video is recorded in resolution 720 x 480 pixels.

It is clear what to demand from a smartphone for 2000 rubles. quality camera- not a noble occupation. If something urgently needs to be photographed in general terms in daylight, then a smartphone is quite suitable for this purpose. In other cases, you can not rely on the phone's camera.

You can see examples of photos below. Pictures are clickable.

Memory, processor and performance.

As I said above, in terms of technical characteristics, the phone lacks stars from the sky, but nevertheless, it works fast enough for many tasks.

In Era Nano 3 installed 1-core processor SC7710 with a core frequency of 1.0 GHz, 512 MB random access memory, and graphics chip Mali-300.

Built-in memory total 512 MB , of which approximately 120 MB is available to the user. You can install a memory card and expand the volume up to 32 GB. Officially supported memory cards format microSDHC up to 32 GB. I must say right away that the available space is 120 MB - very little, you will need to install a memory card if you decide to install applications and games from play -market. For installing applications and several games, a 2-4 GB memory card is quite suitable.

Moreover, without a memory card it is impossible to take a screenshot from the phone screen. According to the programmers' idea, a screenshot can be saved only with a memory card installed in the phone.

In terms of performance, in general, I can say that everything works quite well and smoothly. Can't say that Era Nano 3 works fast, but at the same time - I can't say that it works very slowly. Sort of a middle man. Applications open quickly enough, Internet surfing almost does not slow down, videos open and play well. In the test Antutu Benchmark phone dialed almost 4.500 points, this is not a very high performance indicator. See screenshots.

285 MB of free RAM.
Overall rating in the Antunu test.

The hardware of the Era Nano 3 is weak by today's standards, but you can use it. I have never noticed that the phone would be very slow or freeze. If you run several applications at the same time, then the speed of work is slightly reduced, but in general - everything is quite good. If you do not install a bunch of applications on your phone, then it has about 250-300 MB of free RAM - this is quite enough to run several applications at the same time, and so that the phone does not start to slow down during operation. See screenshot above.
As for games - you can play, but in simple games. Cool three-dimensional games this smartphone will not pull.

Operating system.

Fly Era Nano 3 runs on Android 4.1.2, several applications are installed by default: several services from Google, Yandex.search, a widget from Yandex, a browser, etc. To be honest, I don't like that Fly keeps installing the app. Yandex.search in almost all of their smartphones and tablets, and makes it a system one. This application consumes quite a lot of battery power, and without root access it cannot be deleted, because it is a system one. I recommend immediately rooting and deleting this Yandex.search, then the battery will work a little longer, and the OS itself is a little faster. If you want to put the root, then ask questions in the comments, I'll tell you.
But keep in mind - if you make a root, then you lose warranty service on a smartphone!
Over the air update available WiFi (OTA) ) for new firmware, but I do not think that new firmware will be released for this device. It is too budgetary, and it is probably not very profitable for the manufacturer to invest in its further updating to new versions of Android.

In general, the firmware works well, I did not notice any serious glitches or bugs.

Accumulator battery.

The phone uses a removable lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. The manufacturer claims that the smartphone will work in talk mode up to 5.5 hours, and in standby mode - up to 100 hours.Video playback time up to 3.5 hours.
1500 mAh is certainly not very much, but with normal use with rare loads, the phone lasts for about 1.5-2 days. As you know, the main consumers of the battery are the screen and WiFi . But, since the screen diagonal is not very large here, and it does not have a very high resolution, the battery will not be so much spent on it. I already mentioned above that if you root and delete Yandex.search, the battery will work a little longer ... Whether you need it or not - decide for yourself.

Conclusion.

In general, in my opinion, Fly it turned out to be quite a suitable ultra-budget smartphone for a reasonable price. Almost everyone can afford a smartphone at this price!Fly Era Nano 3 I can recommend to those who are just going to get acquainted with Android. Well, or take it as a spare smartphone, just in case you already have a cooler and more expensive device.

Among the advantages of the device:
1. Compact dimensions.
2. High-quality assembly - nothing crunches or backlash.
3. Loud sound from the speaker.
4. Two SIM cards.
5. 2 year warranty and very low price!

The disadvantages include:
1. Weak hardware by today's standards, lack of GPS.
2. There is little built-in memory, but this issue is solved by installing a memory card.
3. The camera takes a photo of very poor quality.
4. No support for USB flash drives via OTG cable.

But to a greater extent, these are not shortcomings, but features this smartphone. Disadvantages, as such - did not find.

At the time of publication of this review (September 2014), the average price forFly Era Nano 3is only2 296 RUB, judging by Yandex.market. Quite a decent machine for the price!
That's all, thanks for your attention!

Greetings, dear readers!

Long gone are the days when a smartphone was an expensive device that not everyone could afford. For several years in a row, manufacturers mobile phones make not only advanced devices, but also budget smartphones affordable for almost everyone.

If we compare the number of such “state employees” now with what it was a year ago, then an obvious increase is noticeable. And this is understandable - the price segment up to 5 thousand rubles is very popular. Not picky buyers who choose a smartphone for themselves are happy to get a gadget stuffed with many functions and having an operating system (most often Android) for a small price.

Fly phones are the most obvious representatives of this very “budget” sector. The produced models are primarily aimed at the mass consumer, for whom the presence of Android is already a huge plus. Of course, competition is doing its job, and very soon buyers will become more picky. But now the situation is such that Fly smartphones are very popular.

It's no joke - in the first quarter of 2014, the Fly brand took second place in Russia in terms of sales of smartphones in pieces, overtaking Apple and Nokia in this indicator! Not a bad result, is it?

And yet - how high quality are Fly smartphones? Are manufacturers sacrificing quality for price? As for relatively expensive devices (for example, the one I recently tested), the price-quality ratio here is quite tolerable.

But today I had a ruler in my hands Smartphones Fly Era Nano with a price of up to 4000 rubles, and I have to conclude how good these very budget models are. Let's get started...

I want to note right away that it will not be easy for a potential buyer who will come across such a variety of the Fly lineup. All 4 phones of the Era Nano series, namely: Fly Era Nano 2, 3, 4 and 7, look very similar to each other.

What are the differences between them? The difference lies in the characteristics, which are higher, the more expensive the phone.

And which one is better? In this article, I will talk about the pros and cons of each model, and you will decide which phone deserves your trust more.

Price - 1950 rubles. This model, apparently, is intended for those who want to get acquainted with the Android OS, but are not ready to “roll off” a lot of money. The characteristics here are very modest: old version Android 2.3 and the most common single-core processor 1 GHz with 512 MB of RAM.

Pros:

  • Low price.
  • 2 sim cards.
  • Headset included.
  • Actually, the presence of Android itself, which makes a good “toy” out of the phone.

This is where the pros end and the cons begin:

  • Disgusting speaker quality. To have a normal conversation with the interlocutor, you need to use a headset.
  • Lack of 3G support.
  • The phone takes pictures very badly: The 2-megapixel camera more or less copes in bright light, but in other situations it is better not to turn it on. I'm talking about the video.
  • Lack of built-in memory for recording media files. Although the specifications indicate that the amount of internal memory is 256 MB, but in reality this entire amount is allocated to the system. It will be extremely difficult to use the phone without a memory card (fortunately, there is support for microSD).

The last 3 shortcomings can still be experienced, but the terrible quality of communication is an unforgivable “cant”. After all, Fly Era Nano 2 will be bought by people for whom a powerful processor is not important - they need a “dialer” on Android. And the role of the caller this model plays very, very badly.

Price - 2390 rubles. The difference in price with the previous model is small, but at first glance, the Era Nano 3 is significantly superior to its "brother" Era Nano 2.

Pros:

  • High-quality assembly - there are no backlashes and squeaks. The back panel sits like a glove. Despite the similarity to the Nano 2 (the screen diagonal is the same here - 3.5 inches), the Nano 3 seems to be made of higher quality (perhaps this impression is created due to the fact that it is 10 g heavier).
  • A more modern version of Android 4.1.
  • 2 sim cards.
  • Headset included.
  • 3G support.

Minuses:

  • Talking on this phone, of course, is more comfortable, but I would not say much. In noisy places, you will have to press your ear very hard to the speaker, trying to catch the essence of the conversation.
  • Requires a memory card– without it, the very meaning of the smartphone is lost.
  • Small brakes when working with the interface. But here I’m probably finding fault… We shouldn’t forget how much this smartphone costs…

Price - 2990 rubles. According to the characteristics, this model is similar to the Era Nano 3 except for one thing - the screen diagonal here is 4 inches. Due to this, the smartphone is more convenient to manage. But what about the rest?

Pros:

  • Ease of use: the phone fits comfortably in the hand and is well controlled with one hand.
  • Switching between applications occurs without visible delays.
  • Headset included.
  • 2 sim cards.
  • 3G support.
  • A fairly good screen resolution is 480x800.
  • There is a built-in call recording feature.

Minuses:

  • And again I will say about - it is not loud enough for comfortable communication.
  • Touch screen not always responsive- sometimes you have to press desired icon application or menu item 2-3 times.
  • Without a memory card again, nothing ...

Price - 3690 rubles. This is the most advanced model in the Fly Era Nano series. By appearance practically indistinguishable from the Era Nano 4, but there is significant progress in terms of characteristics.

For example, the camera is already 5 Mpix, the Android version is 4.2, video shooting is in HD format 1280x720, the processor is dual-core 1300 MHz, the internal memory is 4 GB.

What is it - the flagship of the Fly Era Nano series?

Pros:

  • Nice design, ease of use.
  • 2 sim cards.
  • 3G support.
  • Headset included.
  • Applications work without brakes.
  • Pretty sensitive sensor.
  • Working on the Internet through the browser is quite smooth and does not cause any particular complaints.
  • There is an internal memory.

Minuses:

  • Poor hearing of the interlocutor when talking in a noisy place.
  • Small hangs when dialing a number and receiving a call.
  • Not too high ringer volume.

What can be said from the test results of Fly Era Nano smartphones? I told you about the main advantages and disadvantages of each model considered, and it's up to you to decide which one to pay attention to.

If we summarize all the conclusions in one, then I note the following:

1) Included with each smartphone are high-quality headphones with a headset. This is a plus. But in addition to them, it would not hurt to put a memory card in the box, since, whatever one may say, it is needed.

2) All smartphones have one main disadvantage - poor speaker quality. Let's hope that manufacturers will pay closer attention to this IMPORTANT detail. Still, the main function of the phone has not been canceled ...

3) With an average load level, all smartphones work for about days without recharging.

4) Of the general advantages, it is worth noting 2 year manufacturer's warranty.

With a review of phones, Sergey Chesnokov

The British company Meridian Group, which produces mobile phones under the brand name Fly, is actively developing the segment of low-cost smartphones. These devices are not scary to take to nature when you plan an active holiday. If the phone survives, it will save pictures of acceptable quality; if it sinks or breaks, it’s a pity, but not very much. Now the most budgetary representative of this line is the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone. Its price ranges from 2500 to 2900 rubles.

Smartphone Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 and how they saved on it

Strictly speaking, Meridian Group does not manufacture mobile phones in-house - it only designs them. For the production of products, the production facilities of well-known companies are used: Lenovo, ASUS, Toshiba, etc. A successful design, an acceptable price-quality ratio determined a fairly stable demand for Fly brand products in some European countries, especially in Ukraine and Russia.

Preparing for the release of the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone, the company focused on economy. The model runs on a single-core processor SC7710 clocked at 1 GHz. Spreadtrum released this chip for use in entry-level smartphones and declared its low cost as its main advantage.

Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 runs on Android based 4.4.2. Google programmers said that this operating system and applications for it require much less system resources than older versions, and therefore can work on devices with poor performance. The Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone is equipped with internal memory 4 GB in size. It can be expanded with a microSD memory card up to 32 GB. The amount of RAM is 512 MB. According to Google, this should be enough for the normal operation of the smartphone with the operating system and applications.

The developers have chosen a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 800x480 px for the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10. Matrices made using this technology are cheaper than IPS matrices and are inferior to them in terms of color reproduction. On the other hand, displays based on IPS matrices are more energy intensive. For a super-economical smartphone, perhaps it was natural to choose a TFT display.

What Fly did not regret with the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10

The Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 smartphone is equipped with a 3.2 MP main camera with flash and front camera 0.3MP There is no autofocus in the camera settings, but it is possible to choose the type of lighting, shooting mode, including panoramic, and some other parameters. Accordingly, with good natural light, you can get good pictures.

It is very convenient to have 2 slots for SIM-cards, thanks to which the buyer can choose favorable rates from different operators. Built-in GPS receiver installed google maps and the Navitel app could make the Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 a very useful travel device.

The audio and video player supports all popular formats. Includes FM receiver, Wi-Fi adapter and others useful features. Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 dimensions allow you to operate it with one hand. Fingerprints are almost imperceptible on the matte case. The smartphone comes with a battery Charger, stereo headphones, USB cable.

Customer Complaints

The 1500 mAh battery gets very hot even in standby mode and quickly discharges not only when browsing the Internet, but also during telephone conversation. Actually, manufacturers of Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 honestly warn buyers about this: the maximum time on the Internet is up to 3.5 hours. The more the battery is discharged, the worse the display works - the viewing angle decreases, the image flickers. There are complaints about poor hearing during telephone conversations.

Despite Google's optimistic statements, the resources of Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 are clearly not enough when surfing the web: "heavy" pages with a lot of photos load slowly, so it makes sense to disable displaying images in the browser properties.

Fly IQ4490i ERA Nano 10 video review:

Traditionally engaged in the production of low-cost mobile phones, it seems to have decided to “take bread” from the little-known Chinese manufacturers that produce ultra-cheap handsets by launching a new model IQ434 on the market. Otherwise, it will not be possible to explain the appearance in 2014 of such a smartphone. Judge for yourself: an android phone, equipped with the most minimal set of functions, entered the market at a price of only 50 US dollars. The novelty is made in a modest design, typical for most inexpensive tubes. There are two modifications of the smartphone - in black and white body color.

Specifications Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5

Model based on chipset Taiwanese company MTK, MT6571, which is a stripped-down version of the MT6572 chip, devoid of support for third-generation networks and satellite navigation systems. It has a pair of cores running at 1.3 GHz, built on the ARM v7 architecture.

To help in games (and about whether it is generally possible to play normally on this phone - just below), the processor is called upon by a dual-core video chip Mali-400MP, which has quite good performance.

A smartphone cannot boast of a memory reserve: it is equipped with only 256 MB (and this is in 2014!) RAM, and for data storage, the user is allocated about 500 MB of a flash drive (of which a little more than half is available in practice). Fortunately, a slot for memory cards is called to correct such an unflattering situation. The user can expand the storage capacity up to 32 GB using Micro-SD.

Battery Capabilities Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 can be called more than modest, the language somehow won't turn around. 1000 mAh for an Android device, known for its tendency to quickly eat battery power, is somehow not enough for a modern device. However, the “hardware” of the smartphone is quite economical, and the handset will definitely last a day in moderate use mode. But more - here already "how the card will fall."

The device is equipped camera. At this point I want to put an end. Unfortunately, nothing good can be said about the photographic module. There is a camera - and that's good. A module with 1.3 MP resolution could have been a pleasant surprise 10 years ago, but not in 2014. In the sun, the pictures are still quite bearable, but in poor lighting it is sometimes difficult to make out something in the image. The module is not equipped with either a flash or an autofocus system.

Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 is equipped with a 3.5-inch touchscreen display with a very modest resolution. 320x480. Pixels at this size give a density of 165 dpi. The first model of the "apple" mobile phone, released back in 2007, had a similar screen. However, the picture, despite the “graininess”, is quite bright. The limited viewing angles are a little disappointing.

The device is equipped with a standard 3.3 mm headset jack. In headphones, the sound turns out to be quite good, there is nothing to blame him for, but the speaker, located at the bottom of the rear panel, “cuts” high and low frequencies a little.

Operating system Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 – android version 4.2. Thanks to two cores, the smartphone interface works quite fast. Stuttering occurs when switching between active tasks, for example, switching from a browser to a video player. This happens due to the small amount of RAM and cache memory. At the start of the OS, about 100 MB of RAM is available to the user, which does not allow you to keep more than one heavy application or game in the background. By the way, games, despite the modest capabilities, the smartphone is capable of “pulling”. It’s not particularly possible to play modern three-dimensional shooting races, but all sorts of “birds”, “tags” work without slowing down.

Pros and cons of Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5

The smartphone, although it has a modest functionality, but it has advantages:

  • low price;
  • support for two SIM cards;
  • fast processor;
  • bright screen.

The disadvantages of Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 are a little more:

  • lack of RAM;
  • low screen resolution;
  • weak battery;
  • lack of 3G and GPS.

Conclusion

As the review showed, the Fly company has launched a budget model on the market, whose functionality will not surprise anyone today. This smartphone will not be of interest to those who want to keep up with the times. But, of course, the model will find its target audience. It can be a gift for a child or a person who is just starting to get acquainted with Android, his first smartphone. Also, the model will be of interest to those who work in difficult conditions or "adventurers" - in general, people for whom the risk of breaking or losing the phone is very high. And just users who need only calls and Internet access from a smartphone. Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 copes with these tasks perfectly.

An economy-class smartphone with a basic set of functions and interface elements, as well as a minimal cost - this is all about Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434. Reviews about this smart phone, as well as its technical parameters and capabilities - that's the subject of this review material.

Appearance

This gadget cannot boast of something unusual in terms of design and case material. This is a typical candy bar with its body entirely made of plastic and has only 2 color options: white and black. It is preferable to buy Era Nano 5 Black. Dirt and scratches are not so noticeable on black. But to avoid them even with a cover and a protective film will not work: the quality of the case materials is far from ideal. The white version of this gadget is focused on the weak half of humanity. At the same time, it will need to be handled very carefully so as not to spoil its original state. It is also worth noting that the Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 Black is slightly more expensive than in the white case. There is more demand for it, hence the difference in price.

A 3.5-inch TFT screen is displayed on the front panel of the device. Below it is a gadget control panel of three typical touch buttons. On the left side there is a volume rocker, and on the right side there is a smartphone lock button. An audio port is placed on the top side of the device, and a "universal" micro-USB is placed on the bottom side. A loud speaker and a single camera peephole are displayed on the back cover of the device.

CPU

The MT6571AE is used as the central processor in the Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434. The reviews of the owners of this smart phone model speak of the low level of performance of this chip. It consists of two computing cores, which are based on the architecture of the ARM processors "Cortex-A7". Its strength is low power consumption, but it cannot boast of a high level of performance. The clock frequency of computing cores at maximum load can increase up to 1.3 GHz.

Screen and graphics

The Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5 has a fairly modest screen. The instructions say that its diagonal is a modest 3.5 inches, and its resolution is 640x480. At the same time, it uses an outdated TFT matrix. As a result, the picture quality on the display is rather mediocre. At viewing angles close to 160 degrees, the image is distorted.

One of the main advantages of this phone model is the presence of the Mali-400 graphics coprocessor. Of course, it does not stand out from its analogues with a fantastic level of performance, but it can be used to watch videos in MPEG-4 and AVI formats, and this is already good.

Camera

A very weak camera in a device such as the Fly IQ434 Era Nano 5. The instructions indicate that it is based on a 1.3 megapixel sensor element. Accordingly, the quality of photos and videos obtained with its help is very modest. Additional options such as autofocus, optical image stabilization or LED backlight are not provided in this device. In general, there is a camera, but getting a high-quality photo with it is quite difficult and difficult. The only thing she's good at is

Memory

A very modest memory subsystem in this device. The amount of RAM is 256 MB, and the capacity of the built-in storage is 512 MB. It is impossible to increase the amount of RAM, but the capacity of the integrated drive can be increased by installing memory cards. The maximum storage capacity supported is 32 GB.

autonomy

Smartphone Fly Era Nano 5 IQ434 comes with battery for 1000 mAh. This is a modest value, as in modern times. But if we take into account the small diagonal of its screen and the high degree of energy efficiency of the central processor, then the declared capacity should last for 2-3 days at an average load level on a smart phone. If desired, this value can be increased to 5 days, but at the same time, the device completely and completely turns into a regular two-SIM "dialer". Well, if the phone is loaded to the maximum, then one charge is enough for 1 day of increased load.

Interfaces

The Era Nano 5 phone is equipped with all the necessary wireless communication methods. It supports mobile networks of the 2nd (they are also called GSM) and 3rd (the second name is 3G), Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. The first two ways of transmitting information are designed to receive data from the global web, the third is for navigation. Well, the latter allows you to connect a wireless stereo headset to the gadget or exchange data with similar devices. There are also wired interfaces: 3.5 mm (for outputting sound to an external audio system) and micro-USB (provides battery charging and allows you to exchange information with a PC).

Soft

Android is used as the software basis of this device. Its version is 4.2.
