In 2015, the popular Belarusian portal TYT.BY switched to using the Yandex mail service, as a result of which the owners of iOS devices experienced some discomfort, as they had to reconfigure the mail client.

Unfortunately, the setup does not go through automatically, as is the case with Gmail. The problem is exacerbated by the fact that during setup you will need to manually enter the addresses of POP and SMPT servers, as well as complete the registration process on the site itself. At the same time, this trouble applies to all users of the resource - both existing and new. In the instructions below, we will describe in detail the procedure for setting up TUT.BY mail on iPhone and iPad.

How to set up a TUT.BY mailbox on iPhone or iPad after switching to Yandex.Mail

1 . Go to the TUT.BY website in a browser on a computer, smartphone or tablet, enter your login and password, click "Mail".

The resource will automatically redirect you to the registration completion page, where you need to enter additional account information. Fill in the required fields and click Complete registration.

2 . Go to the Yandex.Mail web interface using the link , click the gear icon in the right corner next to the account name, and select the section in the pop-up window Other.

3 . Choose a section Email programs in the column on the left.

4 . Check the boxes next to all items and click the button Save Changes.

Attention. Without performing the above steps, the correct operation of tut.by mail on iPhone and iPad may not be possible.

5 . On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings —> Mail —> Accounts.

6 . On the next screen, select " Add account". Since the service you are looking for is not in the list of suggested services, click " Other«;

7 . By going to the section "New Account", enter your account information and click "Further". The username must be entered in full, for example [email protected]

Select Protocol IMAP or POP to further set up mail on your iPhone or iPad.

8 . Fill in all the available cells below as follows:

If you have selected the IMAP protocol:

  • incoming mail server imap.yandex.ru
  • outgoing mail server smtp.yandex.ru
  • Enter Password And Username. Important! Save in the upper right corner.

If you have selected the POP protocol:

  • incoming mail server pop.yandex.ru
  • outgoing mail server smtp.yandex.ru
  • Enter Password And Username. Important! The username must be entered in full, for example [email protected] Don't forget to confirm the action with the button Save in the upper right corner.

In case of problems, try manually setting the ports for the incoming and outgoing mail servers (in most cases it is not required):

Incoming mail (POP3):
Server name: pop.yandex.ru;
Use SSL: Yes;
Port: 995.

Outgoing mail (SMTP):
Server name: smtp.yandex.ru;
Use SSL: Yes;
Port: 465.

For users using IMAP4:
Server name: imap.yandex.ru;
Use SSL: Yes;
Port: 993.

This completes the TUT.BY mail setup on iPhone and iPad.

    The target audience

    The target audience of the TUT.BY portal is all users of the Belarusian segment of the Internet (the population of the country, as well as those who are interested in the life and events of Belarus). In the broadest sense, if a person is on Bynet, we consider him our target audience. At the moment, this is 5+ million Belarusian users accessing the Internet at least once every 3 months.

    Target

    Our goal is to be the first mass media in Belarus in every sense of the word. This means realizing freedom of speech in the country and remaining an objective (without political or any other partisan overtones) information and education portal that offers a modern perspective, publishes various opinions and views, as well as providing efficient and user-friendly local Internet services .

    Mission

    The mission of the TUT.BY portal is to give each user the opportunity to receive objective information on interests, broaden their horizons and live life to the fullest.

    Values

    Companies, like people, do not exist without values. We have only three of them, but they permeate all our activities and serve as a measure of the actions of all employees. These values are a guideline for building relationships both within our company and in relationships with customers, partners, contractors, government agencies, etc.

    Liberty

    In our understanding, this is independence, i.e. freedom of choice, decision-making and performance of specific actions. Therefore, freedom necessarily implies personal responsibility for one's opinions and choices, and for the result of one's decisions and actions. The company encourages personal responsibility and initiative, believing that this is the best way to improve the quality of life of employees and society as a whole.

    Right to make mistakes

    We are convinced that a baggage of mistakes accompanies us on the path of gaining experience that will help us cope with the following mistakes. But if an error is a repeated evidence of incompetence, then this contradicts our understanding of this concept.

    Honesty

    We build our entire workflow on trust. It is important for us that customers trust us, so we carefully treat publications, obligations and agreements. We trust our employees, expecting effective work and achievement of goals in exchange.

    Corporate Social Responsibility

    In its activities, the Belarusian portal TUT.BY uses the principles of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

    In 2014, the Belarusian portal TUT.BY joined the UN voluntary initiative Global Compact. In our daily work, we adhere to the ten principles of the Global Compact in the field of human rights, labor relations, environmental protection and the fight against corruption.

    The sustainable development report of the Belarusian portal TUT.BY (2014-2015) is available at the link, for 2016 Report.

    However, even earlier, since the founding of the company, we have sought to influence the formation of the business environment and serve as a positive example of the social responsibility of business for the Belarusian society.

    The attention of portal journalists to social problems helps to unite people who are not indifferent to the problem all over Belarus, draws the attention of employees of the relevant department and contributes to their solution.

    Every day, the Belarusian portal TUT.BY raises acute social topics on the agenda. We participate in various associations and support socially significant events of a national scale in order to improve the market, society, ecology, etc. The start-up movement is also a priority for us.

    The Belarusian portal TUT.BY itself establishes and organizes socially significant initiatives, for example, in 2006, the popular annual industry-wide international training conference “Business Internet” appeared.

    In 2007, the Help.blog.tut.by project was launched, dedicated to seriously ill children and adults who need help. It contains appeals of parents and relatives for help in raising funds for the treatment of patients.

    Dmitry Smirnov,

    For several weeks now gradual transfer of the contents of mailboxes and all correspondence of TUT.BY users to the Yandex.Mail service. Recall that it was caused by the closure by Google of all its e-mail services located outside the gmail.com domain on the Google Apps Partner Edition service.

    We have already answered the most frequently asked questions from users (we recommend that you read them again), however, in the course of the transfer, new points arise that require additional clarification.

    Deleting cookies

    If, upon authorization on the http://mail.tut.by page, a Yandex form opens asking you to enter your login and password again, we recommend that you close the page, delete cookies (through browser settings) and try opening the mailbox from the http page again: //mail.tut.by. Below we provide links on how to do this in the most popular browsers:

    • Deleting cookies in Mozilla Firefox - link ;
    • Deleting cookies in Internet Explorer - link ;
    • Deleting cookies in Opera - link .
    In addition, if you have previously used the same browser to access your mail, you can try accessing your mailbox using a different one that does not store old cookies.

    Update email and mobile settings

    If you have previously used a mail collection program or set up authorization on a mobile device, then after transferring the mailbox you need to change the settings:
    • mobile devices (In the "Username" field, please enter your mailbox address in the format [email protected]).

    If you did not have time to save your Google account data before the transfer

    Those who, after transferring the mailbox, need temporary access to the old Google account to save files from Google Drive, contacts, etc., you need to:
    1. Log in from http://mail.tut.by to an account of the form USER_NAME.moved with the same password;
    2. Use the instructions from Google on transferring data (link);
    3. The easiest way to save contacts is through export, and upload them to Yandex through import. The easiest way to save data from Google Drive is with the Google Takeout service.
    If these methods did not help you and you did not find the answer to your question in, then we recommend that you send a detailed description of the problem to [email protected] (if the current box does not open, you can start / use backup mail). The experts will definitely help you.
